Crazy P&Ps!

This is a great research article from my friends Bob and Anna. They did a lot of research on several different policies and procedures (PNPs) from many different network marketing companies. This is a sample of some of the crazy things they uncovered!

“Promotions are approved at the discretion of the upline leader, but company distributors may choose the automatic promotion option.”

This one made no sense until we realized that the company has a stairstep breakaway comp plan. When people promote below you, they take part of your check. This company allows your upline to stop your promotion, even though you have earned it!

“In keeping with the Company rule that a husband and wife cannot hold separate sponsorship positions, they must choose which one of them will transfer to the distributorship of the other, while leaving the transferring spouse’s sponsorship group behind. If for some reason a dispute should arise over the choice of sponsorship lines, the company reserves the right to decide each case independently.”

This means that if Alice is a successful distributor and she wants to marry Bill, also successful, one of them must give up his/her business! We wonder where that other business goes. To the company? Hmm. This company is looking for ANY reason to steal your check. This is breakage at its finest.

“In order to maintain status as a distributor, the distributor, spouse, family, household member, or distributor’s business partner are required to not actively participate in any other network marketing or direct sales company.”

Can you say indentured labor? Dictatorship?

“The distributor must fully, at all times, disclose the fact of ongoing income being received from any other network marketing or direct sales company."

Picture your boss requiring you to disclose your earnings from your second job. This is what we meant in our first article about MLM companies controlling you more than any employer ever would in the ‘real world’.

“The Company expects associates to make good judgments when referring customers and avoid situations that may lead to fraud or high customer turnover. Associates will be subject to a charge back for any incentive, bonus or commission earned if a customer fails to become active or is deactivated or canceled for any reason or suspended for non-payment within 180 days after becoming active.”

Does this mean that if a customer of mine fails to make one payment in the sixth month, I must pay back EVERYTHING the company has paid me?

To learn more about how to protect yourself, start with my free e-book, Success in Ten Steps. It will save you years of failure and frustration, and perhaps an unpleasant termination.

Colors to Success - Learn the Different Types of Personality Characteristics

Everybody has a personality and each persons personality is different to a certain degree. It's crucial to understand and be able to identify the personality types in the Network Marketing industry and it's so much fun to use. Once you know the basics and start practicing this simple system, you will experience a positive impact on your business as well as your personal life. With practice you will very soon be able to pinpoint the personality type of the person who sent you an email, the person you are speaking with on the phone, or the complete stranger walking through the mall ahead of you. When you know the likes and dis-likes of the four personality types, it gives you a slight edge and helps you know how to effectively relate and interact with each. You can quickly grab and hold a person's complete attention when you can tell them something about themselves that people don't usually know. An instant bond develops and people don't easily forget that.

You can easily learn this simple but greatly effective technique and quickly build a business with people who you understand and have a bond with. Remember...people join people, they do NOT join companies! This great training can easily improve your personal life as well. What "color" is your spouse? Your mother-in-law? Learn how to build better and stronger relationships!
The following is a brief description of each color personality type:

RED: The red personality type make up about 15% of the population and they are Self-Contained and Direct. They are often the CEO of the company, an Attorney, Airline Pilot or in some type of position of authority. They like to order other people around and will not hesitate to fire you on Christmas Eve. The Red's motto is, "Get out of my Way" and "What, or how much is in it for me?" "My way..or the Highway!" Their voice is forceful with volume and they will take complete control of any conversation. They dress for success, the suit, tie and creases. The red is all about the money! The more the better! They believe that Network Marketing is a "sales" business and they just keep selling, selling and selling! They are 100% NOT coachable. They have big Ego's and will tell you how to run your business, how to sponsor someone whom they have never met and how to deal with your mother-in-law. Reds are well connected and know powerful people and it's great to have them in your business...just don't try to coach them. Let them do it themselves, they will anyway so save yourself a headache. Reds are focused and goal-oriented, very intense and will go after the money no matter what it takes! Reds dislike indecision, chit-chat, losing control, and whining.

YELLOW: The yellows make up about 35% of the population and they are Open and Indirect. They are the Nurses, the Teachers or a Counselor of some sort. They give from the heart and never have time for themselves because they are always doing something for someone else. A yellow will spend their last $5 on you. The yellows motto is..."Let's be Friends" Their voice is soft and gentle and they dress comfortably, casual. They will be the ones wearing the Birkenstocks and the sweat pants. Yellows are dependable, caring, team players. They are patient, supportive and nurturing. They don't like to be sold, pushy aggressive sales-people, bullies, or any type of conflict. Yellows have built huge Network Marketing Business's once they learned to believe that they could do it. They are family oriented and they love to talk about the kids, the vacation, the house. They are genuinely sad that Great Aunt Doris had to go into the Assisted Living Community. Yellows are also Over-Sensitive, Followers and are not very goal Oriented. When you are talking to a yellow, be a yellow. Take the excitement out of your voice and slow down. They see excitement as "Hype" and will tune you out when you start talking about the $10,000 a month.

BLUE: The Blues make up about 15% of the population and they are Open and Direct. They are the Entertainers, Public Speakers, and Sales personnel. Blues want to have Fun FUN FUN!! Their voice is loud and fast and they dress stylishly with a lot of color, flamboyant! Blue people are the most creative, they are the promoters and they are convincing, enthusiastic and always looking for the next fun thing! They have huge energy and see the "Big Picture" instantly. They don't want to be bored to death with the details or all the facts and figures. Blues are dis-organized, scattered, and have 100 things going on at once. They talk too much, they're poor savers, poor on follow-up and they tend to exaggerate! Get excited when you talk to the blue, talk about the vacation and the family but make it the fun stuff. The blue will give you their life story the first time they meet you. They dislike being alone, not having fun and a lot of facts and figures. To sponsor a blue help them learn to focus and organize.

GREEN: The greens make up about 35% of the population and they are Self-Contained and Indirect. The greens are the analytical people. They are often the Accountants, Engineers or are in some type of research. They believe that they are the smartest people on the planet and they want all the details! The facts and figures are what turns the green on. They will read every word, click on every link and crunch the numbers once, twice to make sure and a third time just because. They have soft voices and are polite and they dress formally and conservatively. They are organized Planners, very accurate and Persistent with great follow through. They are over-analytical, hard to please, often depressed and lonely. They are completely comfortable with charts and graphs and will be exact and perfectly timed. They will know the exact time to the second about when the next full moon will appear. Never be late or miss an appointment with a green, don't speak too fast or too slow and enunciate all your words correctly. Give them all the information, answer all their questions, be upfront and give them more web-sites to visit. Never push or rush a green, let them figure it all out at their own pace and they'll call you when they have it all analyzed or need more information.

Read a Network Marketing Company's Policies & Procedures Before You Join!

I just talked to a prospect. He was all excited about this new wireless network marketing company he just joined. I told him to email me the policies and procedures (P&Ps). First off, his "awesome" new company's P&Ps are 28 pages long!!!!! 28 pages!!!!! Wow! This company must have paid some over priced lawyer a lot of money to come up with that junk!!!

Anyway, here are some highlights from those P&Ps:

Section XXX (exact details of which I am keeping confidential for my own protection and my prospect's) said that the company has a right to terminate you at any time for "any unethical, illegal, fraudulent or deceptive business practices." Well, folks, that means just about anything that they don't like. You smile wrong, you say a curse word, you lock you keys in your car, whatever, and they can terminate you, steal your downline, and take all your money. And the business you just spent, 2 years (or 5, 7, 10, whatever) building is gone! Poof! Just like that! And you have no legal standing because you signed those P&Ps. You are toast!!

This guy did not even read the P&Ps for this company before he signed up. The company sent them to him in the U.S mail, one week after he joined!

Folks, if you can't see the P&Ps before you join, if those P&Ps are more than a page or two, if those P&Ps contain any red flags (like we can get rid of you whenever we feel like it), then run like heck in the other direction!!!!! Don't join! Simple as that!

Don’t Pay for Help When You Can Get It for Free!

Everyday, when I check my email I get dozens of e-mails from so called “big name gurus.” The lateset round of e-mails and offers that have hit my in-box concern another self proclaimed network marketing guru, Ann Sieg. Now, she may or may not be, until I do my homework I won’t know if this is an offer I should consider.

The Internet allows us to do our homework on any MLM company, or person trying to shove yet another costly secret at us. Finding valuable information either good or bad can be done with ease. Properly doing Your research will require less than an hour of Your time. All You have to do is a Google search on either the company or the person. You will be very surprised at how easy it is to determine if You should invest either Your time, Your reputation, Your money, or all three.

Please remember there are five essential items, things, attributes (whatever you want to call them)that a good and decent network marketing company MUST have in order for you to be successful promoting with that company or person.

I explain in the post about the 5 Pillars (see my archives) how to eavaluate a network marketing company to determine if the company You are thinking of joining has those 5 pillars, and if it will help or hinder your achievment of Your MLM dreams.

Education and training on how to make a decent living in this great industry of ours should be free! Those of us who have found success in network marketing should be very willing to help anyone that wants to learn how to succeed.

The available abundance of wealth will never run out, we should not try to hoard it for ourselves. Or sell it for a price!

Now, You have to remember that I have been asked to purchase this several times by emails, from so-called gurus and even from people I know. The price of this so called secret is a mere $67.00. Do you realize that at the minimum wage in this country this is over 10 hours worth of work? I believe that this is worth my time investmet of one hour or less,so that I can verify the validity of the offers.

Training and mentoring in network marketing should be free! Remember that and don’t spend money on information you can find on the Internet.

Click on these links for FREE mentoring with my group, Mentoring for Free, and for a FREE ebook, Success in 10 Steps. Help is available and you don’t have to pay for it!

What’s in Your Comp Plan?

Want some insight into figuring out how your MLM company is paying you? These are some general but, Oh So important questions to ask, and get answers to about YOUR money!

Is Your Compensation plan set up for recruiting or retail sales? If Your plan is focused on recruiting you’re just building a paycheck, you’ll get no residual income from recruiting and you’ll never be able to retire….Isn’t that what we’re doing this for? Your plan should be focused on retail sales.

How many people do you need in your organization to make your desired amount of income per month? Ask yourself…How much do you make per distributor? per spot? and divide that into your desired monthly income. That will tell you how many people you need to make that amount of money each month. Then ask yourself….Is this do-able for me? and how long will it take me?

You just may be surprised at the answers you get!

How is the money transferred? Does your new distributor send YOU the check, then You take your share and send the rest to the company? Can you only pay with cash? a money order? or a check? If You’re taking the money then, taking your share and sending the rest to the company, who owes who the 1099 tax form at the end of the year? That company is only going to claim the amount of money that they received. If Your company does not accept credit cards, they have NO merchant account! Why?

What product is your company promoting? If Your company has NO product ,or NO retail sales, then you are in an illegal pyramid scheme. This company will eventually get shut down and all the time, hard work and money that you have invested will be gone forever!
Ask Yourself, would I buy this product with no business opportunity attached to it? Did you know that 72-74% of a downline are product users only! Not everybody wants in on your business!

Have you done a search on Ebay for your companies product? What’s it selling for? If I can go to Ebay and buy your product for $2 a bottle and you’re trying to sell it to me for $19.95, which one do you think I’m going to buy? Also….If there is an over abundance of your companies product for sell on Ebay I would want to know why?

Is your company Publicly Traded? Publicly traded companies have a high overhead, the higher the overhead the less you will be paid! The cost of maintaining the fancy building, the vehicle fleet, and the CEO’s extravagant vacations 4 times a year will continue to rise and the Compensation plan will continue to be adjusted taking money from YOU, the distributor, each and every time.

Does your Compensation plan pay part-timers? This is important because when we first start our business it is often necessary to keep our full time employment until we are established and making money. The only time we have left is “part time” to work on our business. If the

Compensation plan is designed to pay part timers then we will be in profit much sooner and able to own our own lives…..Isn’t that what we’re doing this for?

In summary, People, take a good long look at the compensation plan before you join any company, get the answers to these questions and make an educated decision on if you really want to join this company and if You will ever be able to make any money with it. The answers are easy to find, you can get a great start in this free e-book, Success in 10 Steps.

Seven Steps to Remeber When Building Your Network Marketing Business

Why does success in network marketing seem so difficult?

Let’s agree to start teaching “The Seven Steps” of network marketing success to those who actually want to create the life of their dreams, and leave the rest of the world alone. After all, we’re involved in a great industry, with terrific people, offering unlimited opportunity. And we should be proud to speak the truth.

1) Network Marketing is a business.

Networking is a unique form of enterprise, and you’ve got to understand the game you’re playing. Therefore mentally consume every page of your distributor manual the day it arrives. Listen to your training tapes again, and again, and again. Like a song on the radio, you learn the lyrics by hearing the music one more time.

2) Freedom by the numbers.

Understand the numbers, and your compensation plan. Start by involving three or five people, whatever number your plan dictates. By your fifth year, the commissions paid on your invested efforts could well equal a mid six-figure annual income. After that, the sky’s the limit.

3) Attend every live event.

The weekly presentation is part of the process. You need to be in attendance every week, to see the presentation again. Remember the music? You need the association, and the environment to showcase your company for your prospects. True, not everyone attending every meeting earns $10,000 a month. However, everyone earning $10,000 a month attends every meeting. Now that’s a refined study of the obvious.

4) Work only one company.

Leaders understand this truth, because no man or woman can serve two masters.

5) Have a compelling written “Why?”

Success in Network Marketing is 20% how to, and 80% why to. The best part is, if your reasons are strong enough, you’ll learn everything you need to know along your journey.

6) Invest in yourself first.

Some people are still trying to earn 2008 money using a 1982 education. It can’t be done. If you want to earn more, you’ve got to learn more. Therefore, read all the books, attend all the classes, and learn everything you possibly can.

7) Decide in writing you’ll be here a year from now.
Long-term written goals possess the power to pull you right to the top of your company. Put your dreams for your future on paper, and begin building your dream life!

These “Seven Steps” will take you to the top!

Make Sure You Read the Policies & Procedures of Any Network Marketing Company You are Thinking of Joining!

Policies & Procedures (P&Ps) are legal contracts that people are required to sign when they join a network marketing company. The problem is that the majority of people either don't read them or didn't understand them. (Some companies' P&Ps can run to 30 or more pages, and it's pretty boring legalese.)

Policies and Procedures, Terms of Service, Consultant Agreement, and Independent Sales Rep Contracts are a few of the names MLM companies call the legal binding contracts they require you sign when you join their company.

Does this look familiar to you?

"I have read, understand and agree to the Terms of Agreement, the Policies and Procedures, and the Compensation Plan."

How many people read the enire contract all the way through?Probably not too many.
If you hired a lawyer to read it first and explain it to you in layman's terms, then you would have a clear understanding of whether or not you wanted to sign that contract. But who is going to go to that kind of trouble and expense. And besides, you are saying right now, "my awesome network markting company would never cheat me out of my business! It is a totally honest company!"

They want you to think that signing the P&Ps is just a simple formality. Think again.

Here's a little story.

Joe and his wife Mary joined a great network marketing company. Things were really going great for Joe and Mary. In just a few short years, they were able to quit their day jobs and build their home business full time. They were so happy to be living a life that had always dreamed about.

Then one day, all the happiness and success came to a screeching halt.
Joe and Mary received a letter in the mail from their network marketing company. When they read the letter, they tried to make sense of the devastating news: the company told Joe and Mary that their affiliation with the company had been terminated. No reason, no apologizes, just terminated.

Joe and Mary were very upset, of course. They spent years building a great organization of honest, hard working people. They helped the company train people and gave seminars. They gave everything they had to this company.

They took all of their documents to a lawyer to find out what they could do legally to stop the company from terminating them.

The lawyer sat reading through the company's Policies and Procedures that Joe and Mary had signed when they joined the company. After reading the document, the lawyer took out a red marker and circled something on the paper and handed it to Joe and Mary.

Joe and Mary looked at it and read:

AGREEMENT TERMINABLE AT WILLYou may terminate your relationship with [company] at any time by providing a signed written notice to [company]. [Company] may also terminate the relationship with you (including any partnerships, corporations or other entity) at any time by providing written notice. You or [company] are not required to have any reason, nor do you or [company] have to claim or prove any cause to terminate this relationship. If and when the relationship is terminated, you shall have no claim against [company] nor any right to claim or collect lost profits, lost opportunities or any other damages. Termination will result in the loss of all benefits as an [company] Independent Consultant.

There wasn't a thing they could do about it. The loyalty and dedication they had shown the company had not been reciprocated.

Please, if you are thinking of joining a network marketing company, read the Policies & Procedures, don't become another victim of heartless companies. You deserve more than that.
This free e-book will help get you on the right path to learning the skills and knowledge you need to be a complete success in this wonderful industry. There are great companies out there that will never do this to you. But you have to learn how to identify an honest company!

If you are in a company already, read your P&Ps, if you don't like what you read, then you definitely need to read this ebook!

Best of luck to all!

California AG says “YTB Is a Gigantic Pyramid Scheme”

My mentor Sarah posted this on her blog to expose these pyramid schemes.

Do Your homework before you commit to a company or program to avoid pyramid schemes and scams. You need to know what to look for to do the analysis - When You know this it is like having your own crystal ball. You will be able to predict whcih companies are Scams and Pyramid schemes .

California Attorney General Brown said:

“YourTravelBiz.com operates a gigantic pyramid scheme that is immensely profitable to a few individuals on top and a complete rip-off for most everyone else, Today’s lawsuit seeks to shut down the company’s unlawful operation before more people are exploited by the scam.”

The above quote comes directly from the office of the Attorney General for the State of California. Industry leaders in the network marketing industry immediately reported YTB, or Your Travel Biz, as being a pyramid scheme. They had the knowledge to properly analyze YTB, and to see behind the curtain.

Another example is Burnlounge, they too were a publicly traded illegal pyramid. The Attorney General sued them and they terminated the MLM program within a few short days - All of their distributors lost their entire organizations.

Did you know that YTB has released plans to change to a franchised operation. You need to find out if your MLM company’s pay plan is similar to YTB’s. Read your company’s policies and procedures and the compansation plan. Once You have read these, compare it YTB’s P&P and comp plan, see if they are similar, I have seen many network marketing companies that have YTB mirror-image compensation plans .

Typical companies with low profit margin products and services using YTB mirror-image plans are usually service and education or technology-based operations.
As these companies grow, the number of people that get scammed increases, when the pain level increases and distributros atart screaming, the state Attorney General has to act. This is Why these companies last for only 2 or 3 years.

You can learn and watch for reports like this one by signing up for Rod Cook’s MLM Watchdog newsletter at http://mlmwatchdog.com/

My axiom “Get educated, or get scamed!”

Are You Frustrated by Your Lack of Success in Network Marketing?

When you advertise your MLM opportunity use THAT keyword - Frustrated!

Frustrated network marketers REALLY want answers to their questions, they want to know why they are not successful. It is eating away at them, why they just haven’t made it big. They are so darned … FRUSTRATED!!!!

Use that word, FRUSTRATED - when you are advertising and talking to your leads. Pound, pound, pound on “frustrated.” That word is worth its weight in gold.

Things change over time. It may not always be this way. But it definitely is true now. MLMers are frustrated right now, and they want answers now. Use that knowledge when you advertise to them and when you talk with them.

Tell your leads that “It Is NOT Your Fault!” When they hear those words, they will feel so much relief!

When you can show a person how he/she got into a position where he/she could NOT POSSIBLY have been successful, a giant weight is lifted. These people will realize, “Hey! It really wasn’t my fault!” And now, these leads will be free to work with you and pursue MLM success with a much greater knowledge of what it takes to achieve that success … and with the understanding of how to evaluate one network marketing opportunity against another, to choose the one where they have a real chance to achieve their dreams. In essence, those 5 Pillars companies!

THAT can make all the difference in the world to these folks … and to your business-building results.

What’s Wrong with Asking Friends and Family?

Good question. Here’s how this works.

Most businesses, over 90%, fail. You and your friends and family are no different. And when your friends and family fail, who are they going to blame? YOU!

Once you have your business working and you are making money, then go for it, ask friends and family. You probably won’t even have to call them - they will hear the good news, and they will call you. The Essential 5 Pillars!

Explanation of the 5 Pillars that a Network Marketing Company Must Have for You to be Successful:

Before you get involved with a network marketing company, make sure it has these five key qualities before you sign up (and, of course, before you invest any money!) If not, run like heck (in the opposite direction!).

Pillar 1. Does the company management have integrity?

Do a Google search on the company owner(s). If the owner has had any experience in building a network marketing downline then the compensation plan will keep the distributor in mind. The plan will make it easy to build a business and there will be an excellent support system in place.
If, however, the owner(s) have never built a downline, the compensation plan will put the company before its distributors. The plan will make it very difficult for the distributors to make money, if they can at all. Another thing to consider is the Policies & Procedures of the company. If the company does not make the P&Ps readily available to read before you sign up, they may have something to hide (like lots of extra hidden fees, etc.)

Pillar 2. Timing in the company. Timing in the industry!

Approximately 92% of new companies fail. If the company does not own it's own software program, they will have problems with it most of the time. They will have to hire someone to tweak it here and there, they will not be able to maintain the website themselves. This can be very costly. It is much better to join a company that has been in business for two years or more.
Timing in the company - if you current company is past the growth phase, then it will be very difficult to build a large business - the right company should be entering or in the momentum phase of its growth.

Pillar 3. MLM products!

Most companies do have remarkable products. But you have to ask yourself this question: "would I buy the products if there was not a business opportunity involved?"
If you join this company, do you get a discount on the products? If so, what is the product really worth? This type of behavior indicates a recruiting mentality. If you are only recruiting, you are only building a temporary paycheck. There must be retail sales to develop a true residual income.

Pillar 4. Network Marketing Compensation Plan.

A good compensation plan is one that pays the most with the least amount of people in your downline. Does the plan pay on your total volume, or does it pay on specific numbers of levels, or stop after a set depth? Does it pay part-timers? Do you make money on retail sales? If it is less then 7%, that will kill you!!

There is a simple formula that will show you exactly how many people you will need in your organization to make your desired monthly income:How much money do you make per person, per spot, and divide that by your desired monthly income. This simple formula will give you the exact number of people you will need in your organization. Once you have that figure, ask yourself if this is something you think you can reasonably achieve. Then ask yourself if this is something that your team will be able to achieve as well.

Pillar 5. MLM Systems for Success!

It is absolutely imperative that you have a system that is duplicateable. People are not duplicateable, systems are!! So when your new distributor asks, "can I do this, and will you help me" will you be able to? Network marketing is about building relationships and trust. People join people, they do not join companies!! If they do, they don't stay long.

It’s Easy to Be Successful in Network Marketing - Be a Leader

Why is it that when 500 distributors are invited to attend a three-hour company training workshop, only 50 attend? Where are the other 450?

They feel that investing time in training and working their network marketing business interferes with their daily cable television schedule.

When their small bonus checks arrive at the end of the month, they say: "The business doesn’t work, the checks are too small."

Well, they are partially right. The business doesn’t work — they have to do the work. Ouch! That’s really inconvenient.

There are three types of people in network marketing:

1. Those who joined because they love the products.

2. Those who want to receive big bonus checks, but not do any work.

3. Those who want to earn a bonus check.

Type 3, those who want to earn a bonus check, represent only a small percentage of all network marketers. Most network marketers will give great lip service to the idea that they want to earn bonus checks, but their actions speak louder than words. They say. . .

I can’t go to that opportunity meeting because the season premiere of "24" is on that night!

I won’t go to that opportunity meetings because I attended one once before and it was a waste of my time, I didn't learn anything.

I can't make phone calls, what if the prospect says no?!

I wish the company would make it easier for me by lowering prices or doing my retailing for me.

I can't make up a prospecting list because I really don't think anyone i know would be interested.

I wish beer were served at the training meetings!

The great part about networking is that 95% of all network marketers fall into product users and people who wish for bonus checks.

That means there is little or no competition for dedicated leaders who want to earn their way in this great business. That’s why it is so easy to work and earn large bonus checks in network marketing — there’s no competition at the top!

Distributors and prospects are naturally attracted to leaders who lead by example. Good network marketing leaders don’t have to prospect for new distributors — distributor prospects come to them.

You’ll always hear the non-working network marketing distributors say:
“How is it that my upline leader gets all the good prospects?”

Because prospects look for leaders — not non-workers.

Can you imagine a prospect saying:
“I think I’ll find a sponsor who whines, complains, and doesn’t work the business.”

No way. Good prospects look for energetic, enthusiastic, dedicated, working sponsors.

So, if you want to work where you’ll encounter little competition, start at the top. Be a leader

It Is Later Than You Think!

One day all the employees of Company B reached the office and they saw a bigsign on the door.

On it was written:
"Yesterday, the person who has been hindering your growth inthis company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral inthe room that has been prepared in the gym."

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one oftheir colleagues, but after a while they started gettingcurious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of hiscolleagues and the company itself.

The excitement in the gym was such that security agents wereordered to control the crowd within the room. The more peoplereached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up.
Everyone thought: ‘Who is this guy who was hindering myprogress? Well, at least he died!"

One by one, the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, andwhen they looked inside it, they suddenly became speechless.

They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as ifsomeone had touched the deepest part of their soul. There wasa mirror inside the coffin; everyone who looked inside it couldsee himself. There was also a sign next to the mirror thatsaid: "There is only one person who is capable of settinglimits on your growth: IT IS YOU!!!!!"

How to Generate Your Own Leads

New reps in most network marketing companies are usually told to make a list of family and friends and ask them to join the new business. The new reps then go about calling their prospects, hoping that all these friends and family will be happy to join the business. More often than not, however, rejection is the usual response received and this can be very discouraging for new network marketers.

Another option to get new prospects to join your business is buying "leads." Those people who have answered some ad on the Internet, and are interested in new business opportunities. The problem here is that you don't know where the leads come from, or you don't know how many competitors are sharing the same leads. Also, how fresh are the leads?

What you need is a system of your own that can be used to generate daily fresh leads at minimal caost, leads that are truly interested in joining a successful network marketing company. A system like this will enable you to target business leaders and distributors for you to recruit into your business. Generating your own leads means you will never have to approach family and friends again.

There is a program available called Mentoring For Free that offers you FREE training on how to build a relationship with people, particularly with potential prospects who are really interested in this business. You are taught to avoid the conventional methods taught by most network marketers and instead to rely on your relationship building to attract prospects to your business. All the people in your downline get free training too!

Click on the link above for more information on this FREE mentoring system.
Also, check out my FREE e-book! It is loaded with lots of great information about why you may not be achieving the sucess in network marketing that you are really seeking!

You will learn that it is not your fault. The deck is stacked against the average network marketer. But there is a better way, read the book and check out the Mentoring for Free Website!

Is Success in Network Marketing for Real?

That is a question I used to ask myself when I was bashing my head against a brick wall trying to be really succeed in this business.

Even though I believed in the concept of network marketing, I began to look at it like the story of Cinderella, "Some day my Prince will come!"

Every network marketing or affiliate company I tried would prove to be a dissapointment, and I would end up back in my rags scrubbing the floors.

I couldn't take the disappointment anymore, I had resigned to the fact that, for me, success in network marketing was going to be nothing but a dream, it was all make believe.
So I pursued a career in the ordinary corporate world.

Then one day my Prince arrived with the glass slipper that would change my life. That glass slipper was a FREE e-book called "Success In 10 Steps," which was a perfect fit. Now, for me success in network marketing is no longer make believe.

Would you like to try on the glass slipper to see if it fits? Discover and experience for yourself whether success in network marketing is make believe or for real!

Protect Your Reputation!

This is from my mentor, Sarah Thompson.

We all know that we only have one reputation, right? Well Friends…once you have thrown that reputation in the toilet- It’s in the toilet!! Protect your reputation by making sure that what, and who, you are promoting are good quality things and people. This is not hard to do……It only takes a second to type someones name into the Google search box and hit the enter key on your keyboard. Everything that person has ever done, or that thing is about, will pop right up on your screen and all you have to do is take the time to read it. Isn’t it worth the time to protect your reputation and your other team members?

Once you promote something to someone and it turns out to be a fraud, there goes your Integrity! and most likely the people who you have promoted this junk to will not want to talk to you anymore. Who knows….they may be mad enough to stomp a mud-hole in your back side!

Make sure you’re not selling your reputation for that few bucks in your wallet promoting for example; an Ebook written about building a Network Marketing business by someone who has never built a business themselves! It’s a very simple thing to write an Ebook these days. Google can also be used to gather information on the subject of your choice and all you have to do is re-package someone Else’s work as your own. Just like Ann Sieg did when she compiled that little thing called “The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing.” She’s real quick to tell you that she’s built many many downlines in a lot of companies, yet I couldn’t find one name! She’s using this Ebook as a FREE give-away to promote that cold, impersonal card service that she’s joined.

I would be insulted if someone sent me one of those things! In the time it takes to call up this company I could get out my cards, write a note in my handwriting, from my heart, put a stamp on it and drop it in the mail. My family and friends sure deserve that few minutes of my time!
On that note: If you are one of the people promoting this Ebook be forewarned that your downline could disappear right out from under you and suddenly re-appear right under WHO? Yep..that’s right, The Renegade Network Marketer herself!

Another tip…save yourself $67 if you are thinking about buying the Renegade Network Marketing system. You can get all the information in that system right off the Internet for FREE! This is the true “Modus Operandi” of Ann Sieg and how she really makes her money, not by building big solid Network Marketing businesses, but by selling you the information she’s gathered off the Internet. The chances of anyone making any money off of that system are slim to none. You’d be better off buying lottery tickets!

Good information from Sarah!

If you really want to know how to build a BIG Network Marketing business, just contact me and my team at Mentoring for Free. We’ll show you how a true professional Builds it BIG, Builds it ONCE, and Builds it to leave a legacy for their children’s children! And we’ll do it FREE! For more information read my FREE e-book, I don't charge for this information, and yet it is priceless!! If you are struggling in network marketing, reading this FREE e-book will change your life! Point to Ponder; People are not duplicatable! Systems are!

Best of luck to you in your network marketing career! --Jen Allen

Life Is too Short!

A woman was taking a walk with her dog one day when she suddenly realized that both she and her dog were dead. She kept walking down the road, and saw a beautiful clearing, lush forest, a mother-of-pearl gate, and a solid gold pathway. She went up to the man at the gate and asked what this place was. The man at the gate said "this is heaven," so the woman said "can I please have some water." The man at the gate said "of course, I'll send for some ice water right away." the woman said, "can I bring my friend in too?" gesturing toward her dog. But the man at the gate said, "no, I'm sorry, but we don't allow pets."

So the woman thought a moment, and then kept on walking. She came upon another clearing, a farm, with a brick pathway and an iron gate. A man was standing at the gate, so the woman said "can I have some water, please." The man at the gate said "of course." The woman said, "can I bring in my friend, too," gesturing toward the dog. And the man said "yes, of course." And so the woman and her dog entered the farm and drank a lot of the freash, clean water.

The woman then asked the man at the gate, "what is this place?" The man replied, "this is heaven." The woman said, "well, that is is confusing, the man at the place down the road said that his place was heaven." The man at the gate then said "oh, you mean the place with the gold path and mother-of-pearl gate?" And she said "yes, that's the place," and the man said "no, that's hell." So, the woman said "doesn't that make you mad that they are using the name heaven for their place too." And the man said "oh no, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind!"

Timing Is everything!

When to Join the Company:

Many reasons can cause a business to fail. And some of them are out of your reach, but mistakes can be avoided with good solid research. The timing of when to join a company can be the determining factor of whether or not your business succeeds.

Research it! Do the Homework:

If you are in the network marketing industry, and not doing as well as you had hoped, did it ever occur to you that the problem could be picking the wrong time to join a particular company? If that's the case, you could be the best sales person in the world, but still not succeed.

If you have joined a brand new company that is trying to find it's place in the network marketing world, it might not work out. Many new companies fail within the fisrt year or two.

When the timing is right, NON-Network marketers will take your product to the marketplace. The timing means NOW. Not 5 years earlier. Not 5 years later. Millionaires have been made in this industry just because of timing alone. Nothing else.

So how can you gauge the timing?

This free e-book explains that it's not easy, but there are some tips:

1. You'll waste a lot of time, money, and energy getting in too early, because a large percentage of these companies fail in the first year or two.

2. You'll waste a lot of time, money, and energy getting in too late. If the company is a household name, its momentum growth period occurred years ago. You're fighting a real uphill battle to start out in companies like this.

3.You want to get in AFTER a company has proven it has staying power (maybe 3-5 years), but BEFORE its momentum growth period is over (in general, the time it takes a company to go from $100 million to $500 million a year). If you can find a company like this (and one that also has the other parts of a proven formula in place, which you can read more about that on my blog), a little bit of work will give you the chance to really succeed and make money.

If you want to research more information about truly succeeding in network marketing, read this free e-book and you'll get a complete picture of how to avoid all traps and pitfalls in this lucrative industry.

Why You Need a Duplicateable System to Succeed in Network Marketing

Without a duplicateable system in network marketing, it is like building a house without a good solid foundation. Eventually the house will collapse. The same thing will happen when building your business. When laying the foundation of a house, it must be deep and solid according to the size and the structure. Therefore, in network marketing, the system, too, must be structured and organized in such a way that it can be duplicated all the way down through the levels of your team. No matter what the level of expertise your team members have.

This strengthens the core structure of your organization when the duplicateable system is in place. New team members are able to quickly establish themselves and then build their own teams in the same way.

Duplicateable systems must have a strong ongoing support and ongoing training structure and must be suitable for anyone to follow including part-timers, as most people who start out in network marketing build their business alongside their full-time jobs.

You will also find that the retention rate for staying in the business will be much higher. This way more people on the team will succeed.

Network marketing is not for the loners because you cannot duplicate people but you can duplicate systems.

Many people have failed in their home businesses because their system is not duplicateable all the way through the lines, and then they believe it is their fault. But this is very often not the case! The true concept of network marketing is to be able to create an income for yourself by building a strong team. So in order for that to happen it has to be organized into some kind of duplicateable system where each individual will receive the ongoing training and support they need to build their own strong solid duplicateable system.

Don't Buy Leads, Create Your Own!

Creating free home based business leads is no longer a mystery or a problem for me nor should it be for you. Before I learned how to create my own free home based business leads, I purchased leads for thousands of dollars to help advertise my home-based network marketing business. I got a lot of wrong numbers, a lot of people who really were not interested, and I did not get any customers.

I am telling you this so you can see that I have first hand knowledge that purchased leads are usually stale or non-responsive, two reasons why buying leads doesn't work. But the main reason buying leads doesn't work is that buying leads can not be duplicated by most of the people out there. It is too expensive and it does not work. Even if you can afford to purchase leads, most people, especially those just starting out in business can't or won't. In network marketing, you must be able to duplicate your actions to be successful.

But if you need leads to help your business grow, how do you create your own free leads?

If you want your business to grow, fresh leads are a must!
To create free fresh, responsive leads, follow a tested, proven, success system that brings only the most qualified, truly interested people into your group. The system must have the following four elements: lead generation, prospect follow-up, sponsoring and training your reps to do the same.

If a system has already proven that you can generate fresh, responsive, qualified leads then why reinvent the wheel? Why not follow the leader? The right system at the right time can save you from countless mistakes and years of hard work. If people experience success duplicating your efforts, they will stay with you for life and you'll only have to build your business once. And you'll be able to build it large because you won't have to keep replacing those who quit for lack of results. If you don't have a proven system that can be duplicated and you want to save yourself from countless mistakes and years of frustration, you can get on the right road today with a system that has already been tested and proven.

So you already have a proven system? Proven by whom? Most probably proven by the super duper sales person. Proven by the heavy hitter who is great at recruiting. Over 90% of people hate pushy, aggressive salespeople and they do not have the talent, skills or desire to be salespeople themselves. Most so-called proven systems only work for the 10% - those with the natural talent for sales/recruiting or those who desire to learn the skills to become salespeople.

Thus, even though their efforts may be duplicateable, they are not duplicareable for the masses. This network marketing industry is about a lot of average people doing a little not a few talented people doing a lot. Not to mention, network marketing is not a sales, recruiting business. It is a people-helping-people business -- a relationship-building industry. If our foremost efforts are to help others succeed, we will succeed in the process.

This system is absolutely FREE. Prove it for yourself. You have nothing to lose. Read this free e-book to learn more about the industry and how to do it right.

Best of luck to your network marketing success!

How Your Network Marketing Compensation Plan Works

This great article from my friends Sarah Thompson and Tina Gregory has very useful information about compensation plans.

If Your company does not accept credit cards ,they have NO merchant account!

Not everybody wants in on your
business!

If the Compensation plan is designed to pay part timers then we will be in profit much sooner and able to own our own lives…..Isn’t that what we’re doing this for?

In summary,

People, take a good long look at the compensation plan before you join any company, get the answers to these questions and make an educated decision on if you really want to join this company and if You will ever be able to make any money with it. The answers are easy to find, you can get a great start in this FREE ebook:

Do Your Homework Before You Commit

Written by my mentor, Sarah Thompson

Everyday, when I check my email and I see who is promoting what programs, I am flabbergasted. I get dozens of e-mail from so called “big name” gurus, and even from people I know. These are folks whom I think have a certain amount of common sense. Obviously, these people did not take the time to do their homework on the company or person before signing their name to the offer.

The latest round of emails and offers that have hit my in-box concern another self proclaimed Guru Ann Sieg. Now, she may or may not be, until I do my homework I won’t know if this is an offer I should consider.

The Internet allows us to do our homework on any MLM company or person trying to shove yet another costly secret at us. Finding valuable information either good or bad can be done with ease. Properly doing your research will require less than an hour of your time. All you have to do is a Google search on either the company or the person. You will be very surprised at how easy it is to determine if you should invest either your time, your reputation, your money, or all three.

Please remember there are five essential items/ things / attributes that a good and decent network marketing company MUST have in order to let you be successful promoting that company. (Read my post – The 5 Pillars Every Network Marketing Company Must Have for you to be Successful – which will explain the 5 “things.”)

Please remember you only have one reputation, guard it well, if you become known as a person that will promote anyone or anything just to make a buck you can be assured that your business will not last.

As for education and training on how to make a decent living in this great industry of ours, that should be free. We who have “become successful” in network marketing should be very willing to help anyone that wants to learn how.

The available abundance of wealth will never run out, we should not try to hoard it for ourselves.
In my next post I will show you the results of my research on Ann Sieg, then I will detail the process I used.

I am going to spend 15 minutes on Google and show you what I found on the latest so called secret and marketing system being presented by Ann Sieg. This is just one example of the many offers flooding my in-box everyday.

Now, you have to remember that I have been asked to purchase this several times by emails, from so called gurus and even from people I know. The price of this so called secret is a mere
$67.00. Do you realize that at the minimum wage in this country this is over 10 hours worth of work? I believe that this is worth my time investment of one hour or less, so that I can verify the validity of the offers.

This is an ongoing investigation, as I review more of these “opportunities” I will post the research results here.

Relationship Building Is the Key to Your Network Marketing Success

By My Mentor Michael Dlouhy

You need to talk to your front-line leaders regularly. At least every other day. Sometimes it's 2 or 3 times a day. Make yourself available anytime for 3-way phone calls. Give your team a system to help them find the people and sponsor them into your business. Make yourself available.

At our 35th wedding anniversary on June 21st, we had 2 of our front-line Diamonds at the celebration. And my sponsor My sponsor and his wife flew across the country to attend. Several others from our group were there. And we had a ball.

Here's what it's about. I have a gentleman in my group, awesome guy, he lives up in Monticello, Florida. On our way back from a seminar trip to Houston, Texas, I stopped by to see Richard and Cheryl. They have a big old hickory tree that was leaning towards their home. It got hit by lightning, and it was dead. They were very concerned it could come down, and it's a couple thousand dollars to have that cut down and carted away. So I got together one day with Linda and our son Matt and a friend, Lynn Rothfuss, from New Jersey, and we made a day of it. We took a picnic up and we cut the tree down, cut it up, stacked it up for them.

That builds relationships. We just did that to help them. When was the last time your upline did something like that for you? That's what this business is about - it's about building relationships. We'll be in business the rest of our lives with Richard and Cheryl. I'll be in business the rest of my life with all our top leaders. It just goes on and on and on.

You've got to build it solid. We just sponsored some awesome people down in Puerto Rico, Nestor and Toni. They're so excited, they're going on the MLM Cruise with us. When we come back, we'll hang out there for 2 or 3 days and do meetings and build them an empire while we're there. They'll have it started before that, but we're going to explode that island.

The Mistake That Many Leaders Make:
People are telling their downlines all the time, "You have to change. You have to get out there and sell. You have to become this other person that you aren't right now." The truth is, YOU are perfect just the way you are. Everybody on your team is perfect just like they are. They don't need to change. They don't need to become a pushy, aggressive salesperson.

Ninety-two percent of the world's population is sales resistant. You don't like to be sold. You walk into a store, looking for shoes. You want to look around, pick out what YOU want. You don't want some sales clerk coming around, telling you they have a sale on such and such a shoe. You want to shop and buy what YOU want. Maybe you'll ask for a clerk, once you've decided what you want.

So it's only about 5% of the people in network marketing who tell the others that they have to change, they have to become this pushy, aggressive salesperson, make a list of your friends and family and go puke all over them, force them into the business. That Is NOT How To Build Your Business!

My belief is, just target the market and find people who already are looking for the business, people who already believe in network marketing. Don't go out and try to build them a dream to get them in the business.

It's kind of like religion. Some people believe in God, some don't. Don't try to convince the people who don't believe in God to believe in Him. And don't try to convince the people who do believe in God to not believe in Him. Just go talk to the ones who already believe! Talk to the people who already believe, and are looking. Those people are warriors. Those people are ready to take action. Those people will build an empire. They will build a legacy income for you. Those are the kind of people who will drive 6 hours to your house and cut down a tree for you. Those are the people you want. Build relationships with those people. Get them into your business, and never, never, never quit building the relationship with them!

All these years in the industry, it's almost comical to me. I hear so-called heavy hitters talking about building relationships. But the truth is, they don't have a relationship with their spouse, they don't have one with their kids, and they don't have one with their business partners. They rattle on about relationships, but they don't know how to build one.

Bulletproof Your Income!
What if your company went out of business tomorrow? Don't laugh - it has happened to many, many people in this business. What would you do? Would you have to start over from scratch?
Well, NOT if you have strong trusting relationships with your people! If you have taken the time and made the effort to build that steel-ribbed "know, like, and trust," then your people will stick with you. They will follow you to your next company. They will trust in your judgment.

If you haven't built those relationships, your future is very much in doubt. Why take that chance? Work hard at getting close to every person in your group. That's a strategy that will pay off for you big-time, whether your current company is around forever or not.

How to Succeed in Network Marketing

Free Mentoring for Success in Network Marketing and MLM

So, you've tried and tried, and worked and worked, and paid and paid! I know, I've been there. I've lost a lot of money and was frustrated at my lack of success. But Network Marketing can and does work. But you have to know what you are doing, you have to learn the ropes, and you have to be with a good company, where management has the highest integrity and is looking out for you. You want to be successful and financially free. And Network Marketing is a good way to accomplish this. But there are lots of scams out there. Or companies that are just not looking out for their reps.

Are you buying leads for hundreds or thousands of dollars each month? Trust me, buying leads does not work!! I know, I've tried it. I once spent $1,275 on leads in one month, and you know how many people I signed up? Zero!!! Yep, that's right, a big fat zero! There is a way to make money in this business, but you have to know what you are doing, and you have to work with great people who know what they are doing, too. And nobody should charge for this information. Not $67, not even $6 or $7. A good mentor will mentor you for free.

So, where do you go from here? Well, you need to be educated, and you need a great mentor. Check out my links above for a FREE e-book called the 10 Steps for Success, and the Mentoring for Free website.

Good luck in your future success in Network Marketing.

The 5 Pillars Every Network Marketing Company Must Have for You to Succeed

Before you get involved with a network marketing company, make sure it has these five key qualities before you sign up (and, of course, before you invest any money!) If not, run like heck (in the opposite direction!)

But you have to ask yourself this question: "would I buy the products if there was not a business opportunity involved?" If you join this company, do you get a discount on the products? If so, what is the product really worth? This type of behavior indicates a recruiting mentality. If you are only recruiting, you are only building a temporary paycheck. There must be retail sales to develop a true residual income.

Pillar 4. Network Marketing Compensation Plan. A good compensation plan is one that pays the most with the least amount of people in your downline. Does the plan pay on your total volume, or does it pay on specific numbers of levels, or stop after a set depth? Does it pay part-timers? Do you make money on retail sales? If it is less then 7%, that will kill you!! There is a simple formula that will show you exactly how many people you will need in your organization to make your desired monthly income: How much money do you make per person, per spot, and divide that by your desired monthly income.
